In honour of Mental Health Awareness Month, Oxford Cricket Club is excited to announce the Superskills Challenge, a charity fundraising event to be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Jordan Hill Sports Ground in Oxford. The event aims to promote mental health awareness and raise funds for Opening Up Cricket, a charity dedicated to supporting mental well-being within the cricket community.
The Superskills Challenge will feature teams competing in their respective age groups: U9, U11, U13, and U15, with separate competitions for boys and girls. The event will also feature a raffle with exciting prizes to be won, adding to the fun and excitement of the day.
All proceeds will be donated to Opening Up Cricket to support their initiatives in promoting mental health awareness and providing support to those in need.
About Opening Up Cricket:
Formed in 2014 in response to the tragic death of Sefton Park CC wicket keeper Alex Miller, Opening Up Cricket aims to promote positive mental health in the sport. The organization has delivered over 400 sessions across the United Kingdom and Australia, spreading their message and providing support to the cricketing community. Run by dedicated volunteers and supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, Opening Up Cricket continues to break down the stigma surrounding mental health in cricket.
