Men’s Cricket

Welcome to the Senior Men’s section! We are always on the look out for new players regardless of age and ability. Our aim is to provide an environment in which all players feel they can improve and enjoy their cricket at the same time. We offer a vast range of playing levels that can range from a high performance focus to a more social experience with our 1st XI playing the the Home Counties Premier Cricket League whilst our 2nd-4th XI’s play in the Cherwell League.

Our 1st XI plays in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League (HCPCL) Division 1, after promotion from the Division 2 in 2019, as well as finishing as Division 1 Runners Up in the 2017 Summer, an outstanding achievement for a young side. There is strong competition weekly for places in the 1st XI. We have a long tradition of providing players for Oxfordshire and this continues today with a number of our 1XI players representing Oxfordshire at both a Senior and Age Group level alongside playing for the club.

The 2nd XI compete in the Cherwell Cricket League Division 3. The 2nd XI provides a strong platform for younger players to learn and push for 1st XI selection whilst also providing a strong standard of cricket for players of all ages and abilities. Narrowly missing out on promotion in 2019 finishing 3rd. 2020 will look to see the continued development of players both on and off the field whilst also going that step further to secure that promotion to Division 2.

The club’s 3rd and 4th XI’s play in the Cherwell Cricket League Division 7 and 10 respectively. The aim of both of these teams is to provide an enjoyable cricketing experience for all regardless of age or ability. In 2019 the amount of junior cricketers playing in the men’s teams was as high as its ever been, a great pathway for young cricketers to work up to the highest level in club cricket with the first XI.
